Supernatural Divisions
Final Film
Pierce, an efficient and highly trained detective, works for his family’s agency. His mother, Ruth, is the head of the agency which deals with supernatural cases. Pierce and his mother must work together to capture and contain a werewolf before it wreaks havoc on the unsuspecting city while also testing their already strained relationship.
Supernatural Divisions is a 2D digitally hand drawn animated short film. The final look was created using a risograph and a printer.

Black and White Contact Sheet
The final look of the film was created using the risograph and a black and white printer. I wanted to experiment with different styles and mediums to break the mold of conventional animation. By combining digital and analog animation audiences are also able to physically see the amount of effort that goes into animation. Here are examples of how the frames are formatted and printed out. They are then shot under a camera and I used the program Dragonframe to make it animated again.

Pierce is the best in the agency as his mother has been training him since a young age. He is an efficient and serious detective with a no nonsense attitude and doesn't have time for incompetence.
Ruth is the mother of Pierce and the head of the agency. She is steadfast and tenacious when it comes to her work. She has her stoic moments but her motherly and vulnerable side comes out when her family is in danger.

A werewolf that Pierce and Ruth must contain and turn back into human.
